Pia Elton Hammer started dancing with Fernanda Smith and continued with Jorunn Kirkenær, before she graduated from Fagerborg Upper secondary school in 1994. She then worked as an aspirant at Jeune Ballet International, Rosella Hightower in France for one year.
Between 1995 and 2000 Pia worked as a freelance dancer in Oslo, where she was part of productions by Dans Design, Oslo Danse Ensemble, Sølvie Edvardsen, Hooman Sharifi, Eva-Cecilie Richardsen, Stellaris Danseteater, Lise Nordahl and Un-Magritt Nordseth. From 2001 to 2008 she was employed by Carte Blanche, where she worked with choreographers such as Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eyal, Amanda Miller Antony Rizzi, Ingun Bjørnsgaard, Alan Lucien Øien, Jo Strømgren and Ina Christel Johannessen.
Since 2008 Pia has mainly worked for zero visibility corp. She has dances in 9 productions: 137.7, It was November, I have a secret to tell tou (please) leave with me, Thief After – clip 0, Now she knows, Leave.Two House, AGAIN, Terra 0 Motel and The Guest. She also teaches regurarly at Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
